I was asked by Richard from the Sandown Historics to organise another Shelby Display for this year's event. I had assembled 5 Shelbys which was the requirement for the display. The Shelby Display was in a prime position in the concour area in front of the Grandstand facing he track. Also, attending the Historics were the Shelby Boys from N.S.W. which saw their original Shelbys running around the track in style. I caught up with Ernie and Elaine Nagamatsu from America which i had met recently at the Australian Grand Prix earlier this year. Ernie was racing his Factory Original AC Cobra which has a huge racing history. Ernie's Cobra was on display recently at Motorclassica so this Cobra is not only a show car but likes to hit the track whenever it has an opportunity. Overall, the weather and atmosphere on the day was fantastic, enjoyed by all of the race fans.
Thanks to Richard from Sandown for the invitation and to all of the Shelby Owners for their support....

For the last 12 months, i've been an Advisory Board Member for Motorclassica and invited to organise a 13 car Mustang, Shelby and AC Cobra display for this year's show recently at the Exhibition Building at Carlton. It was a difficult decision to select these vehicles amongst many impressive Mustangs and Shelbys. A good balance was required between the years from 1964 to 2012. Most of these Mustang, Shelby and AC Cobra Owners are Mustang Members from all over Australia who displayed their vehicles at Motorclassica. Tony and his Family came all the way from N.S.W.  to display his 2007 Shelby GT-500 "Fender Shelby Special" Mustang which is 1 of 2 built in the world and also Chad from N.SW. displayed his 1967 Brabham BT-23. Wolf from "Sleeping Beauties" Restorations (Qld) displayed his Tribute, 1968 EXP Mustang. Ernie and Elaine Nagamatsu's '63 Factory Race AC Cobra was on display, all the way from America and also Joe's 2 AC Cobras and his Special Paint Yellow Code WT-6006, '68 Shelby GT-500KR. Special mentions also goes to Sam's '69 Boss 429 which won the Chief Judges Award, Dorothy's '67 Eleanor which won a Mustang Award, Brian's '66 Shelby Hertz which won a Mustang Award as well, Chris's '70 Mustang "Texas Pace Car", Greg's '70 Boss 302, Mario's '71 Boss 351, Nick's 2012 Supersnake Shelby GT-500 and Robert's '64 1/2 Mustang. Overall, the display was welcomed and appreciated by the Director of Motorclassica, Paul Mathers and Chief Judge, John Virgo. It was great weekend to organise this Mustang, Shelby and AC Cobra Display for Motorclassica and also to promote M.O.C.A. and the Shelby Movement which incorporates S.A.A.C.  Thankyou to Motorclassica for the invite and also to the Mustang, Shelby and AC Cobra Owners for their support...

It was that time of the year for the annual Victorian Mustang Round-Up "Shelby Display" in Melbourne. The weather was looking good for another great display of Mustangs and Shelbys at this major Mustang Event. As i arrived at 7am at the venue, there were already half a dozen Mustangs on the display area which was a good sign. I had emailed all the Shelby Owners on the Shelby Registry to inform them of the display and i had received 19 definates which was good to hear. As the morning progressed, Mustangs and Shelbys were coming in at a good rate. Overall, there were 17 Shelbys and just over 400+ Mustangs on display which was fantastic. The Display looked great thanks to all of the owners and also to those who helped out on the day before who marked out the car spaces and on the day of the event which included the Western Australian Shelby Representative, John Luca, great effort. This Major Mustang and Shelby Display was a team effort which was a great result for all involved including Craig and Robyn Dean from Mustang Motorsport who are one of our major sponsors of the event and Mustang Members. Looking foward to next year's event also the Mustang Nationals in Adelaide at Easter. Many thanks to the Vic. Mustang Club, M.O.C.A. Shelby Owners, S.A.A.C. Australian Shelby Reps, Mustang Motorsport who supported the Shelby Display, bring on 2015....

Big thanks to all the Shelby Boys, Shelby Girls and Shelby helpers for making our display at Merrylands Muster today one to remember. It was a big effort all round to get so many of our cars there. If I have left anyone off the list – my apologies.

Congrats to Chad for taking out the best race car with 5S400 – very well deserved!

It was that time of the year for the annual Mustang Nationals but for the very first time the Shelby Nationals was incorporated together with this major event. Over the Easter weekend, Mustangs gathered from all over Australia to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Mustang and the Nationals at Geelong in Victoria. Over the three nights through Easter at the Mecure Motel hosted the Mustang & Shelby Nationals members and the nightly dinners pre-organised for all of the Mustang Members which was an opportunity for all Mustang attendees to renew friendships from last year's Mustang Nationals at Perth and to meet new members. Easter sunday was the main day for this event which was overshadowed by overcast conditions but fortunately the sun soon made it's presence which was a great sight. As i entererd the venue at 7am, there were already a few Mustangs on display and soon after the main gates were open.  Different types of Mustangs attended this event from early to late which was great to see. By 9.30am, there were over 350 plus Mustangs and officially 29 Shelbys on display which is a new Australian Record for the highest number of Shelbys displayed in one place in Australia which is a fantastic effort by the Shelby Owners. This Shelby Record was supported by the State Shelby Representatives especially John Luca from W.A. and Fred Pascale from S.A. who were on hand to assist with the Shelby Parking which was greatly appreciated. The Mustang & Shelby Nationals was a major team effort which was very successful. Congratulations to the Mustang & Shelby Nationals organising committee headed by John Chapman and the Victorian Mustang Club Committee, M.O.C.A. a job well done.
Thanks to all of the Shelby Owners, State Shelby Reps. S.A.A.C. Victorian Mustang Club, M.O.C.A. for their support.

Recently on Sunday 16th March, i attended the Australian Grand Prix where i had the pleasure to meet Ernie and Elaine Nagamatsu who are the owners of Cobra CSX 2203 and also Old Yeller 2 which was raced by the late and great Carroll Shelby in 1960 also by Max Balchowsky, Dan Gurney, Bob Bondurant, Billy Krause, Bobby Drake and Paul O'shea. Both vehicles were on display and also raced yesterday at the Grand Prix. It was great to see these two rare race bred vehicles here in Australia and to meet these passionate owners. Also, i had the privilege to actually sit in Old Yeller 2 where Carroll Shelby and others sat, back in the early 60's. Ernie and Elaine were so friendly and kind giving their time to other interested race goers on the day. We, exchanged business cards and we also spoke about a possibility for Ernie and Elaine to return to Australia this october for the Shelby Nationals/Victorian Mustang Round-Up. It was certainly a day to remember especially for me....
